Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

My ideal clients are couples who deeply care about one another but feel stuck in patterns of disconnection, communication breakdown, resentment, or emotional distance — especially during major life transitions such as pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, new parenthood, identity shifts, or changing family roles. Many of the couples I work with are high-functioning externally, yet privately struggling to feel connected, understood, or emotionally supported within their relationship.

I work well with couples who are motivated for intentional, structured support and want to strengthen communication, rebuild emotional safety, and reconnect before patterns become more entrenched. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming and welcoming to diverse relationship structures, modern families, and couples seeking a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental therapeutic space.

Working with me is warm, collaborative, honest, and very human. I create a space where couples can feel emotionally safe enough to have the hard conversations while also recognizing that relationships are messy, vulnerable, and sometimes genuinely funny. I balance emotional depth with practical tools and structure, helping couples understand the patterns underneath conflict while learning how to reconnect in more intentional ways.

Clients often tell me sessions feel grounding, approachable, and refreshingly real. My style is direct but compassionate, with a mix of emotional insight, humor, accountability, and nervous-system-level “you’re okay, we can work with this” energy. I especially enjoy working with couples who are motivated for growth, open to reflection, and trying to stay connected through the very real stressors of modern relationships, parenthood, and life transitions.

I’m Ashley Johnson, MS, LPC, founder of Intimacy Reset — a structured couples therapy practice. I specialize in helping couples strengthen communication, rebuild emotional connection, and better understand the patterns underneath conflict, disconnection, and resentment. I’m especially passionate about supporting couples through major life transitions, including the stress, identity shifts, and relationship changes that can come with parenthood and modern partnership.

My approach is warm, grounded, relational, and very human. I believe therapy works best when people feel emotionally safe enough to be honest, vulnerable, and occasionally laugh at the strange reality of being two nervous systems trying to love each other well. I balance emotional depth with practical structure, helping couples feel both supported and challenged in meaningful ways. Outside of therapy, I love Central Oregon’s outdoors, strong coffee, good conversations, and building community-centered connections wherever I can.
